Iran attacked Israel and Kevin Pietersen was traveling to India | XFormer England captain Kevin Pietersen shared a scary experience of his trip to Mumbai as he arrived in the city to commentate on the ongoing IPL 2024 tournament.

Iran launched more than 300 drones and missiles at Israel in an unprecedented attack late Saturday. While 170 drones and 30 cruise missiles were shot down before they reached Israel, a few of the 110 ballistic missiles did get through, injuring 12 people, the Israeli army said.

Iran had repeatedly threatened to retaliate against Israel for a deadly April 1 air strike on its consulate building in Damascus.

In reaction to the developing situation, the Indian embassy in Israel advised Indian citizens to keep calm and observe local authorities' safety precautions.

The embassy stated that it was constantly watching the situation and communicating with Israeli authorities to ensure the safety of the Indian people.

Meanwhile, Kevin Pietersen revealed that his flight had to be re-routed due to Iran's missile launch towards Israel. He recounted the unnerving experience on social media. His post revealed the anxiety-inducing nature of the situation.

"Well, that's a first. Our plane last night had to go back and add another big load of fuel cos we had to reroute to avoid the missiles from Iran. MADNESS!!!! Anyway, in Mumbai and at Wankhede later. One of my favourite cricket grounds!" he posted on X.
