The Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) clashed in the 25th match of the IPL 2024. This encounter in being played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 11, 2024.
MI came into this match on the back of their first win in IPL 2024 after three straight losses. On the other hand, RCB had won only one game out of five played.
MI captain Hardik Pandya called correctly and decided to field first.
RCB openers Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli started cautiously against MI opening bowlers Gerald Coetzee and Mohammad Nabi, who bowled the first over. The big battle the fans were waiting to see was between RCB run machine Virat Kohli and MI bowling ace Jasprit Bumrah.
Bumrah was introduced into the attack in the 3rd over and Virat Kohli played the first two balls cautiously. Bumrah got the third ball to move into Kohli after pitching and though Kohli tried to make some room to play it, he only succeeded in inside edging it.
Ishan Kishan moving to his left took a good catch and Kohli was sent back to the pavilion by Bumrah for 3 runs off 9 balls.
