IPL 2024: WATCH- SRH fans silence CSK followers reminding them of Pat Cummins’ iconic CWC 2023 statement

Pat Cummins had spoke about silencing Indian crowd on eve of CWC 2023 final against India.

Pat Cummins SRH captain | SRH XSunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) registered an easy win in the 18th match of the IPL 2024 over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Hyderabad. Pat Cummins had won the toss and decided that SRH would bowl first.

CSK lost Rachin Ravindra for 12 runs to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. But Ruturaj Gaikwad (26) and Ajinkya Rahane (35) did well. But the best knock came from Shivam Dube as he slammed 45 in 24 balls with 4 sixes and 2 fours.

Then Ravindra Jadeja made 31* in 23 balls as CSK finished with 165/5 in 20 overs. For SRH, 5 bowlers picked one wicket each.

In reply, Abhishek Sharma’s assault of 37 runs in 12 balls with 4 sixes and 3 fours, gave SRH a huge advantage. After him, Travis Head (31 in 24 balls) and Aiden Markram with 50 ensured smooth sailing for SRH. Shahbaz Ahmed (18), Heinrich Klaasen (10*), and Nitish Reddy (14*) took SRH home with 11 balls to spare and 6 wickets in hand.

Following the win, SRH fans celebrated by doing the shush (finger on the lips) gesture towards CSK fans. This was after Pat Cummins had stated that he would like to silence the Indian crowd ahead of the ICC World Cup 2023 final in Ahmedabad, which Australia won in a one-sided contest against India.

The picture went viral on social media. In another video that caught the attention on X, an SRH mocked the CSK fans sitting around him with a finger-on-the-lips gesture.
