Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have unleashed hell onto the batters in this IPL 2024 in the form of pacer Mayank Yadav. The 21-year-old from Delhi has been making batters of opposition teams duck and weave with his searing pace in the two matches LSG have played in recent times.

Mayank Yadav made his IPL debut against Punjab Kings and returned the figures of 3/24. But more than the wickets, all eyes were on the speed meter to see how fast Mayank was bowling and he bowled quite a few deliveries over 150 kph. He clocked the fastest delivery at 155.8 kph.   

He was the Player of the Match on his debut and repeated the feat against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Bengaluru. Mayank rushed Glenn Maxwell and then clean bowled Cameron Green with a searing pacer, as he bowled the fastest ball of IPL 2024 thus far at 156.7 kph.

In the aftermath, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) head coach Justin Langer shared a hilarious message for legendary Pakistani fast bowler - Shoaib Akhtar. Nicknamed the Rawalpindi Express, Akhtar holds the record for bowling the fastest delivery in international cricket.

Akhtar clocked 161.3 kph (over 100 mph) delivery against former England star Nick Knight to achieve the iconic feat at the ICC World Cup back in 2003.

After Yadav bowled the fastest ball of the IPL 2024 season, former Australian head coach Langer teased Akhtar by sharing his famous dialogue. In a viral video shared by LSG, Langer shared a special message for Akhtar and said ‘Fenta maar diya’.
