The IPL 2024 fixtures between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Gujarat Titans (GT) and Delhi Capitals have been rescheduled owing to Ram Navami festivities.
The decision was taken after the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) told the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) about the security situation in the city. The Kolkata Police expressed its inability to provide adequate security for the match due to the Ram Navami celebrations, as per PTI.
The match in which KKR was set to face RR on April 17 at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata will now be played a day prior on April 16, 2024.
On the other hand, the match between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals which was to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on April 16, 202,4 has been postponed by a day and will now be played on April 17.
Kolkata are currently in Visakhapatnam as they will take on Delhi on Wednesday, April 3. On the other hand, Gujarat will get an extra day's break as they play Rajasthan in Jaipur on April 10 before hosting Delhi on April 17.
