IPL 2024: Cricket fraternity lauds Rishabh Pant as his first fifty after comeback propels DC to 191/5 against CSK

Pant's 51-run knock came off 32 balls, including 4 fours and 3 sixes.

Rishabh Pant | BCCI-IPLDelhi Capitals (DC) skipper Rishabh Pant scored a brilliant fifty in Match 13 of the IPL 2024 season against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Vizag on Sunday (March 31).

Opting to bat first, DC got off to a brilliant start as the duo of David Warner and Prithvi Shaw added 93 runs for the opening wicket. However, their dismissals triggered a little collapse.

Pant, who came out to bat at No. 3 during the 10th over, started off cautiously after Delhi lost Mitchell Marsh and Tristan Stubbs in the same over after losing the two openers in quick succession.

The southpaw tried to up the ante from 18th over as he smashed Mustafizur Rahman for a boundary and six. In the penultimate over, he took on Matheesha Pathirana, hitting him for two boundaries and a maximum.

Rishabh Pant completed the half-century in 31 deliveries with a four off Pathirana, who dismissed him a ball later for 51. His 32-ball knock was studded with 4 fours and 3 sixes.

It was Pant’s first half-century after returning to competitive cricket following the horrific car accident in December 2022. Thanks to his knock, DC racked up a massive 191/5 in their allotted 20 overs.

For his measured half-century, Rishabh Pant received a rich praise from the cricket fraternity on social media.
