IPL 2024: WATCH- LSG debutant Mayank Yadav hurls 155.8 kph lightning bolt to Shikhar Dhawan

Mayank Yadav made his IPL debut in LSG v PBKS match in Lucknow.

Mayank Yadav bowled the fastest ball of the IPL 2024 thus far | XLSG debutant Mayank Yadav made everyone stand up and take notice against PBKS in the 11th match of the ongoing IPL 2024. The match is being at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on March 30, 2024.

LSG was captained by Nicholas Pooran in this match as KL Rahul played as an impact player. Pooran won the toss and chose to bat first. Quinton de Kock (54), Pooran (42) and Krunal Pandya (43* in 22 balls) powered LSG to 199/8 in 20 overs.

For PBKS, Sam Curran took three wickets, while Arshdeep Singh scalped 2.

In reply, the PBKS openers Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow, added 102 runs for the first wicket in 11.2 overs. Mayank Yadav was bought into the attack by Pooran in the 10th over and he started by bowling at 147 kph.

However, the most shocking delivery from Mayank Yadav came in his second over, when he hurried Shikhar Dhawan with a ball showing 155.8kph on the speed gun. He also touched 153 kph in the same over as well. Yadav’s 155.8 kph is also the fastest ball in this IPL 2024.

Mayank Yadav hails from Delhi and was picked by Gautam Gambhir, then LSG mentor in IPL 2023. This was after Yadav impressed in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy where he bowled above 150 kph regularly. However, Yadav was unable to play in that IPL season due to injury and was replaced by Arpit Guleria.

However, Mayank made an impressive debut and finished with figures of 3/27 in his 4 overs.
