Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper Pat Cummins was relieved after leading his team to a thrilling 31-run victory over Mumbai Indians (MI) in an intense IPL 2024 clash on Wednesday, March 27, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
SRH made history by setting a new IPL record with a staggering total of 277/3 against MI and eventually secured their first win of the season in a fiercely contested match that had both bowlers on edge. The SRH vs. MI game saw a total score of 523 runs, with only 8 wickets falling in Hyderabad.
Well, after the match, Cummins was visibly elated by his team's performance, emphasizing that the electrifying atmosphere of playing in front of the massive crowd was just amazing. He also lauded Abhishek Sharma (63 off 23 balls) for his fearless batting against MI.

Pat Cummins said in the post-match presentation ceremony: “That was insane. It's one of those games. It felt like they were finding boundaries whenever they wanted. It was good to finish on the winning side. In IPL, we have played in front of big crowds.”
He added, “And to see him (Abhishek Sharma) play with freedom was good to watch. You never played for 270. We wanted to play positively with the impact player and score aggressively.”
Cummins signed off by saying, “It's obviously a good wicket. You have to suck up that you will go for some boundaries. The cutters helped in the last phase. First home game here. The crowd was very loud and it was amazing.”
