Virat Kohli was the Player of the Match after his team RCB registered their first win of IPL 2024. RCB defeated PBKS at their home in Chinnaswamy in Bengaluru on March 25 by 4 wickets. Kohli starred with the bat, scoring a sublime 77 runs.
RCB captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and chose to bowl first. PBKS managed to make 176/6 in 20 overs. Shikhar Dhawan made 45, while Jitesh Sharma (27), Shashank Singh (21* in 8), and Prabhsimran Singh (25) made valuable contributions as well.
In reply, Virat Kohli made 77 runs in 49 balls with 11 fours and 2 sixes to his name. While Faf du Plessis, Cameron Green, and Glenn Maxwell failed to come good, Kohli did the majority of scoring. However, PBKS bounced back with his wicket.
As the match hung in balance, Dinesh Karthik and impact-sub Mahipal Lomror came together. Lomror made 17* in 8 balls with 2 fours and 1 six, while Karthik hammered 28* in 10 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes as RCB achieved the target in 19.2 overs and won the match by 4 wickets.
