Mumbai Indians (MI) new captain Hardik Pandya showed his gratitude towards the Indian Premier League for his success ahead of the IPL 2024 season. This season also marks Pandya’s 10th year in the league, having made his debut in 2015.
The star all-rounder will be leading the 5-time champions Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2024. He replaced Rohit Sharma as the captain of Mumbai Indians after he was traded back to the team from Gujarat Titans.
Hardik took to his Instagram and shared a special video which featured his journey with the Mumbai Indians so far. The video showcased his initial years with the team, when he joined the franchise in 2015, and showed him batting and bowling in the nets.
"The IPL has given me everything. IPL gave me my identity. Otherwise, I would still be in Baroda, where I am from. But not this Hardik, some other Hardik would have been there,” Hardik said in the video.
"In my 10th IPL season, grateful for the journey, for the growth, for everything that's come my way. And to be back with a team that's always been in my heart, Mumbai Indians," Hardik's caption read.
The Hardik-led Mumbai Indians will face the Gujarat Titans on March 24, Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
