Ace batter Virat Kohli has joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) camp ahead of the IPL 2024 which kicks off on March 22. RCB will take on defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the opening encounter in Chennai on Friday.
Virat Kohli has been out of action since the Afghanistan T20I series in India. He missed the entire five-match Test series against England which India won 4-1 after losing the first Test in Hyderabad. Kohli was away as his wife Anushka Sharma delivered their second baby, a boy whom they named Akaay. Kohli was away in London on vacation and only landed back in Mumbai on Sunday (March 17).
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli said that he was very excited to be back and ready to play for the RCB franchise in the upcoming IPL 2024.
"It's really good to be back, firstly, playing cricket and just starting off the IPL. Always excited to come back to Bangalore for the start of the IPL season. Similar emotions, similar feeling. I haven't been off the media radar, can say I have been into normalcy for two months. I am pretty happy to be back and pretty excited and I hope all the fans are excited as well," Kohli said in a video posted by RCB.
