Star Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has predicted the IPL 2024 season which begins on March 22. He spoke about which batter could win the Orange Cap for the most runs in IPL 2024, and surprisingly left out the names of ace batters like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill.
Virat Kohli won the Orange Cap in 2016 for his record 973 runs, while Shubman Gill scored 890 runs in IPL 2023 to get the honor.
While speaking to Esports streamer Gulrez Khan, Yuzvendra Chahal picked the names of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler and said that one of these two players will win the Orange Cap in IPL 2024.
"Orange cap will go to (Yashasvi) Jaiswal or Jos Buttler," Chahal said.
Jos Buttler had won the Orange Cap in IPL 2022 with 863 runs to his name, while Yashashvi Jaiswal’s best outing was in IPL 2023, when he made 625 runs with one century and 5 fifties with the best score of 124, with a strike rate of 163.61.

Chahal, who has 187 wickets to his name in 145 IPL matches, was also asked about the Purple Cap winner, and in reply, he mentioned his name first. He further added that Rashid Khan will be the second-highest wicket-taker behind him in IPL 2024.
"I will take the most wickets. Second, Rashid Khan," Chahal said.
Rashid is part of the Gujarat Titans team in the IPL 2024 and in the previous edition, the Afghan spinner picked up 27 wickets in 17 matches.
