Lance Klusener joins LSG for IPL 2024

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have brought on board the former South African all-rounder Lance Klusener ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024).

On March 1, the LSG announced the signing of Klusener as their assistant coach for the upcoming IPL 2024, starting on March 22. He will be joining head coach Justin Langer and fellow assistant coach S Sriram to add valuable experience to the LSG’s coaching staff.

He is also part of the Super Giants' SA20 affiliate team, Durban's Super Giants, in South Africa’s SA20. This isn't Klusener's first IPL coaching assignment, as he previously served as an assistant to former South African captain Shaun Pollock during the early stages of the IPL with the Mumbai Indians (MI).

Well, Klusener has a proven track record, guiding the Guyana Amazon Warriors to their maiden Caribbean Premier League (CPL) title last year.

Apart from the IPL and CPL, Klusener boasts coaching experience with various teams, including serving as the head coach of Afghanistan and as a batting coach for South Africa and Zimbabwe.

He has also contributed his expertise to Tripura in the Indian domestic circuit. Notably, Klusener played 49 Tests and 171 ODIs for South Africa from 1996 to 2004.

On the other hand, the LSG will open their IPL 2024 campaign against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Jaipur on March 24, 2024. LSG made it to the IPL playoffs in both the seasons they have featured in since their debut in 2022, but they couldn’t reach the final.
