The Indian wicketkeeper-batter has been out of action since his car accident in December 2022, but he is recovering well and is likely to make a comeback to competitive cricket with the IPL 2024.

Recently, the left-handed batter participated in a Delhi Capitals (DC) camp in Kolkata, which was attended by the team’s senior staff like Sourav Ganguly, Ricky Ponting, and Pravin Amre. Then, Pant took part in the IPL 2024 auction in Dubai as well.

He is the biggest player, if he plays then it will be good for us. Our coaches and physio are doing work on him and the best part is this he is recovering very well. We hope by March he will fit and play for us.”

Meanwhile, DC signed the powerful batsman Harry Brook for INR 4 crore and Jhye Richardson for INR 5 crore at the auction, while the uncapped Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Kumar Kushagra for a hefty INR 7.2 crore. And Sagar stressed that the team already has planning for them.

He signed off by saying, “Yes, we do work on that we want Harry Brook to come and play for us in the middle order and we made our team strong by adding Kushagra.”
