The Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) is expected to be held in India itself, despite the general elections scheduled to take place. There have been two times the IPL was moved to a foreign location due the general elections in the country.
In 2009, the IPL was entirely played in South Africa, while in 2014, the first half of the tournament was played in UAE because of elections. However, the BCCI in 2019, managed to hold the entire tournament in India despite general elections.
As per a BCCI source, this time as well, the IPL 2024 is expected to be played in India and the possible starting date of the tournament might be March 22.

"There is nothing like that, to shift the tournament outside the country, as the general election will also be at the same time. If any state doesn't want to host the match at that time, with any justified reason, the match could be shifted to another venue," a BCCI source told ANI.
