IPL 2024: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) part ways with assistant coach Vijay Dahiya

Vijay Dahiya was assistant coach of LSG since IPL 2022 | LSG XFormer India keeper-batter Vijay Dahiya and IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have parted ways ahead of IPL 2024 tournament. Dahiya was part of LSG support staff under Andy Flower’s coaching since team’s inception in 2022.

Vijay Dahiya, who played two Tests and 19 One-Day Internationals for India in 2000 and 2001, had a long coaching career. When he got the LSG post, he was the coach of the Uttar Pradesh squad. Dahiya has also worked as an assistant coach with the Kolkata Knight Riders and as a talent scout for the Delhi Capitals.

Earlier, Gautam Gambhir, the mentor of LSG, had also left the franchise and returned to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

These changes happened after LSG brought in Justin Langer as the head coach of the team ahead of IPL 2024.

Notably, Lucknow Super Giants had appointed former India spinner Sridharan Sriram as one of their assistant coach for IPL 2024 season. He joined the likes of Pravin Tambe and the South African duo of Morne Morkel and Jonty Rhodes as the team's assistant coaches.

Vijay Dahiya took to social media to "bid goodbye" to Lucknow Super Giants and wished the team well for the upcoming season.
