Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh shared a hilarious meme on Mitchell Starc after the Australian pacer’s record breaking bid in the recent IPL 2024 auction.
Starc, who put his name in the IPL auction for the first time since 2018, will return to the IPL after 8 years. He was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for a huge bid of INR 24.75 Cr in the auction, which made him the most expensive player in IPL ever.
He broke his Australia captain Pat Cummins’ record, who had earlier gotten a bid of INR 20.50 Cr from Sunrisers Hyderabad. This made the two Australian pacers the first-ever to get more than INR 20 CR bids in IPL auction history.

Starc last played in IPL for RCB in 2015. He was also bought by KKR during IPL 2018, but he pulled out of the season, citing personal reasons.
During the second Test between Australia and Pakistan, Starc completed 650 wickets in international cricket.
In 263 international matches, Starc has taken 651 wickets at an average of 25.35, with the best figures of 6/28. He has 23 five-wicket hauls and two ten-wicket hauls in international cricket.
