Recently, his franchise, KKR broke all records as they paid INR 24.50 Cr for Australia pacer Mitchell Starc in the IPL 2024 auction. This proved to be the most expensive buy by any franchise and Starc became the most expensive player bought in IPL history.

During an AMA on X, a fan asked Shah Rukh Khan whether the box office collection of Dunki would be more than the price that Kolkata Knight Riders paid to Mitchell Starc in the mini-auction on Tuesday.

The actor, while seemingly baffled by the question, regained his wit and came up with a cheeky response. Shah Rukh Khan said that he would earn money after Dunki hits the screens, while he had to spend money to buy Mitchell Starc for KKR in the auction.

Starc will return to IPL fold after 8 years. Starc played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2014 and 2015 and picked up 34 wickets in 27 matches.
