IPL 2024 Auction: Pat Cummins becomes most expensive buy in IPL history; Daryl Mitchell signed by CSK for a hefty sum

Fierce bidding war happened for players such as Rovman Powell and Travis Head in the first set of capped batters while Steve Smith and Manish Pandey going unsold was another talking point.

In the second set, capped all-rounders were up for grabs and Australia’s World Cup-winning skipper Pat Cummins hogged the headlines by becoming the most expensive player in the history of IPL auction.

1. Wanindu Hasaranga (Base Price INR 1.50 Crore) – Sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 1.50 Crore

2. Rachin Ravindra (Base Price INR 50 Lakh) – Sold to Chennai Super Kings for INR 1.80 Crore

3. Shardul Thakur (Base Price INR 2 Crore) – Sold to Chennai Super Kings for INR 4 Crore

4. Azmatullah Omarzai (Base Price INR 50 Lakh) – Sold to Gujarat Titans for INR 50 Lakh

5. Pat Cummins (Base Price INR 2 Crore) – Sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 20.50 Crore

6. Gerald Coetzee (Base Price INR 2 Crore) – Sold to Mumbai Indians for INR 5 Crore
