IPL 2024: Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins with base price INR 2 crores to headline IPL 17 auction; 333 names finalized

The IPL 2024 auction will begin on December 19 at 2.30 PM IST.

IPL 2024 auction to happen on Dec 19 | IPLThe list for the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) Player Auction has been unveiled with 333 players set to go under the hammer in Dubai on December 19 ahead of the new season. This will be a mini-auction as it will be the concluding season of players’ three-year contracts.

Meanwhile, there are a total of 214 Indians and 119 overseas players out of which 2 players are from associated nations. A maximum of 77 slots are now available with up to 30 being slotted for overseas players.

There are 23 players with the maximum INR 2 crore base price. While 13 players are on the auction list with a base price of INR 1.5 crore.

Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and Travis Head are some of the big names who have kept INR 2 crores as their base price. Starc, who represented RCB in 2014 and 2015, returns to the Player Auction for the first time since 2018, while Head went unsold ahead of IPL 2023.

Meanwhile, Cummins had pulled out of IPL 2023 due to international commitments. Starc was bought by KKR in the IPL 2018 auction but didn’t participate due to an injury. Travis Head, meanwhile is expected to break the bank, given his performance in ICC World Cup and his ability to bowl off-spin and also keep wickets.

Daryl Mitchell and Rachin Ravindra, who were New Zealand's top performers in the World Cup, have also registered for the tournament with a base of Rs 1 crore and Rs 50 lakh, respectively.

South Africa pacer Gerald Coetzee, India's Shardul Thakur, Harshal Patel, and Umesh Yadav have all kept themselves in the INR 2 crore bracket.
