IPL 2024: “Feels good to be back”- Hardik Pandya reacts on homecoming to Mumbai Indians

Hardik Pandya made his IPL debut in 2015 for MI and was with them till 2021.

Hardik Pandya | MI XHardik Pandya, India's all-rounder, was picked by the Mumbai Indians (MI) from the Gujarat Titans (GT) on Monday in an all-cash transaction ahead of the IPL 2024 auction. Pandya, who began his IPL career with MI in 2015, captained GT for the last two seasons and guided the franchise to an IPL title in their first season in 2022.

Hardik was retained by GT on deadline day, but his move to MI was possible because the trading window will close on December 12.

MI traded Cameron Green to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to free up INR 17.50 crores enabling them to bring in Hardik Pandya back into the fold in an all-cash deal with GT.

"Gujarat Titans' (GT) captain, Hardik Pandya, is set to move back to his first franchise, Mumbai Indians, following a trade between the two franchises. The all-rounder spent two momentous years with GT, spearheading their campaign with aplomb. In GT's debut season in 2022, Hardik ensured a fairytale start, with the team lifting the coveted trophy, while they finished runners-up in their second season after a last-ball defeat in a thrilling final earlier this year," IPL said in an official statement.

Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya shared an emotional message on social media speaking about his return to MI, where it all began for him. He shared a clip from the IPL 2015 auction when he was bought by MI.

Pandya took to social media to express his delight over the move, saying "It feels good to be back".
