Hardik Pandya's reaction to Shubman Gill's 106-meter six | ScreengrabShubman Gill was at his breathtaking best in Gujarat Titans’ (GT) comprehensive 62-run victory over Mumbai Indians (MI) in Qualifier 2 of IPL 2023 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Friday (May 26).

Invited to bat first, the defending champions piled up a colossal 233/3 in their allotted 20 overs on the back of Gill’s scintillating hundred (129 off 60 balls). His knock was laced with 7 fours and 10 sixes.

During his whirlwind century, Shubman left the fans and cricket experts mesmerized with quite a few incredible shots.

Gill took the MI pacer Akash Madhwal to the cleaners, hitting him for three sixes in the 12th over while his forehand smash against Cameron Green for a six during the 15th over left the commentators speechless.

Another highlight of Shubman Gill’s knock was his 106-meter six over long-on against MI spinner Piyush Chawla in the 13th over of GT’s innings.

It was such an effortless shot that GT skipper Hardik Pandya, who was watching the action from the sidelines while waiting for his turn to bat, was seen smiling in disbelief.

Here’s the video:

It was Shubman Gill’s third hundred in the last four innings and he surpassed Faf du Plessis’ tally to become the top run-getter this season. With 851 runs to his name, Gill is now only the second Indian batter after Virat Kohli and fourth overall in the history of IPL after Jos Buttler and David Warner to aggregate more than 800 runs in an IPL season.
