Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) are clashing in Match 70 of the IPL 2023 at Bengaluru, a game that RCB have to win to progress to the playoffs else Mumbai Indians would go through.

As it rained for most of the afternoon and early evening, the match finally started 55 minutes late as Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to bowl first keeping the unpredictable weather in mind.

RCB got off to another fine start courtesy Virat Kohli and captain Faf du Plessis, as the duo added 67 runs in 7 overs before the latter was dismissed for 28. Glenn Maxwell (11) and Mahipal Lomror (1) fell cheaply, but Kohli kept going and found an able partner in Michael Bracewell who scored 26 in 16 balls.

Dinesh Karthik continued his forgettable season with a golden duck and it was Anuj Rawat (23*) who provided the support Kohli needed to kick on and get RCB to a defendable score.

Kohli brought up his 7th IPL ton - the most by any batter and became only the third batter to score consecutive tons after Shikhar Dhawan and Jos Buttler. He finished 101* as RCB ended their innings at 197/5 in 20 overs.

Kohli's wife Anushka Sharma was in the stands as she blew kisses towards him as he brought up his ton. Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya also came up to Kohli to give him a warm hug upon reaching his milestone.
