IPL 2023: Cricket fraternity salutes Virat Kohli as he slams century in a must-win game for RCB against GT

Virat Kohli smashed second century on the trot in the ongoing IPL season.

Virat Kohli | BCCI-IPLIn a must-win game for RCB to qualify for the IPL 2023 playoffs, star batter Virat Kohli stepped up to the plate against Gujarat Titans (GT) at Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday (May 21).

Asked to bat first, RCB got off to a brilliant start as the duo of Kohli and skipper Faf du Plessis added 67 runs for the opening wicket.

While Du Plessis got out in the 8th over, Kohli held the one end firmly and kept RCB’s hopes alive despite wickets falling from the other end.

Virat completed his half-century off 35 balls and he went berserk after completing the milestone. The right-hander started dealing in boundaries frequently and notched up the three-figure mark in the last over off 60 balls.

It was Kohli’s second century on the trot in the ongoing IPL season as his seventh overall in the cash-rich tournament. In the end, he finished with 101 not out off 61 balls and his knock was studded with 13 fours and 1 six.

Michael Bracewell (26 off 16) and Anuj Rawat (23* off 15) also chipped in with handy contributions as RCB eventually piled up 197/5 in their allotted 20 overs.

For his stunning display with the bat, Virat Kohli received rich praise from the cricket fraternity on Twitter.
