IPL 2023: “They hit Prerak Mankad on the head”- LSG fielding coach Jonty Rhodes on crowd trouble in Hyderabad

LSG defeated SRH by 7 wickets to stay alive in the race of IPL 2023 playoffs.

Incident which triggered the Hyderabad crowd | TwitterLucknow Super Giants (LSG) fielding coach Jonty Rhodes has revealed that all-rounder Prerak Mankad was hit on the head by an object thrown by the crowd during their most recent IPL 2023 match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on May 13 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad.

The incident took place after a third umpire's no-ball ruling became contentious. It happened when the visitors reviewed a no-ball awarded by the on-field umpire for a waist-high full-toss bowled to Abdul Samad and the TV umpire decided in favor of the LSG bowler Avesh Khan.

The judgment infuriated the crowd as well as SRH batter Heinrich Klaasen, who animatedly protested it to the umpire. At the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, it infuriated the crowd, which led to disorderly behavior and, according to reports, objects being hurled at the players.
