The MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) clashed with David Warner’s Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 55th match of the IPL 2023 at Chepauk on May 10. In the standings, CSK sit in second place, while DC have made a strong recovery after losing their first five games in a row.
MS Dhoni decided to bat first after CSK won the toss. Ambati Rayudu's inclusion in the starting XI was also revealed by Dhoni. Also, spinner Lalit Yadav had been added to DC starting eleven, according to David Warner.
Ruturaj Gaikwad (24), Devon Conway (10) and Ajinkya Rahane (21) got starts but couldn’t score big runs. Ambati Rayudu (23) and Shivam Dube (25) provided some impetus to the innings, but fell soon after.
CSK was struggling as they only had 139 runs by the 18th over, but then MS Dhoni jumped into action.
Khaleel Ahmed stepped up to bowl the 19th over and after two good balls which went for singles, he was taken to the cleaners by MS Dhoni, who has done this quite often in the ongoing IPL 2023.
First was a six was a pull over mid-wicket on a slower ball, which was followed by a four, which came courtesy of a thick edge over short third man.
On the last ball of the over, Dhoni hammered Khaleel’s wide, full ball straight over his head for a six.

After the first six, the camera panned towards Sakshi and Ziva Dhoni in the stands, and they were seen clapping and hi-fiving one another.

Mitchell Marsh dismissed both MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja in the 20th over, to close CSK innings on 167/8.
