Former India spinner Rahul Sharma on Tuesday (May 9) expressed his gratitude to Gautam Gambhir for his timely help for his ailing mother-in-law.
Taking to Twitter, Rahul shared a note to explain how Gambhir offered help immediately after he approached the ex-India opener-turned-politician.
Rahul’s mother-in-law was suffering from a brain haemorrhage and was in critical condition.
"Last month was very difficult. My mother-in-law had brain haemorrhage, she was in critical condition. Thank you Gautam Gambhir paaji & ( his PA Gaurav Arora) who helped me in such difficult time & he provided the best neurologist and hospital in such a short time and the surgery has been done successfully. Now she is absolutely fine. Thanks to Gangaram hospital and their staff for excellent care. Special thanks to Dr. Manish Chugh, your compassionate treatment is miraculous," Rahul wrote in the note he shared on the micro-blogging site.
In his post, Rahul Sharma also shared pictures of his mother-in-law recovering from the surgery.
Rahul, who retired from all forms of cricket in August 2022, represented India in 4 ODIs and 2 T20Is between 2011 and 2012. The leg-spinner claimed a total of 9 wickets for this country.
On the other hand, Gautam Gambhir is associated with Lucknow Super Giants as a team mentor. He is currently travelling with the Lucknow-based franchise in the IPL 2023 season.
