IPL 2023: “Take your conversations elsewhere,” Shikha Pandey clarifies her ‘swearing won’t help’ tweet wasn’t aimed at Siraj

RCB players have been part of quite a few heated altercations in the ongoing IPL season.

Mohammed Siraj's verbal spat with DC batters | TwitterRoyal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) players have been part of quite a few heated altercations in the ongoing IPL season and the latest was a spat between pacer Mohammed Siraj and Delhi Capitals (DC) opener Phil Salt.

Salt had smashed Siraj for two sixes and a boundary off consecutive balls in the fifth over and the right-arm quick responded with a short delivery that flew over the batter's head and was declared wide.

Siraj then engaged in a war of words with Salt, who didn't back down as well. The RCB speedster also seemed to have some words with DC skipper David Warner.

Soon after the incident, Indian women's team pacer Shikha Pandey shared a tweet that was seen by many as an attack on Siraj.

"Swearing won’t help anyone win any games! #JustSaying," she wrote on the micro-blogging site.

Her post garnered a lot of negative comments, with many slamming her for taking a potshot at Siraj.

Later on, Shikha issued a statement on Twitter, clarifying that her initial tweet was not directed at Siraj.

"I’ve always been in awe of Mohammed Siraj’s bowling. What he has achieved in his career thus far is incredible, inspiring & incomparable. So folks trying really hard to make it appear as if I implied something else please take your conversations elsewhere," said Shikha Pandey in her first tweet.

"Also, if you think hurling abuse on my TL or some one else’s helps you get your point across pls continue to do so. I can speak for myself, it does NOT. P.S. I’m heading to the kitchen to wash the dishes, with papa lending me a hand in preparing dinner," the second tweet stated.

In RCB’s match against Lucknow Super Giants on May 1, veteran batter Virat Kohli was involved in a heated exchange with Naveen-ul-Haq and Gautam Gambhir. Things did look ugly in that fixture and all three were fined for breaching the IPL code of conduct.
