On May 7, the Gujarat Titans (GT) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) faced off in the 51st game of the IPL 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill pounded the LSG bowlers to every corner of the Motera Stadium after GT was asked to bat first by LSG skipper Krunal Pandya, who had won the toss.
In just 12.3 overs, the pair put up 142 runs for the first wicket. Saha took the initiative, scoring 81 runs off 43 balls before holding out in the deep off Avesh Khan's bowling. Saha hit 10 fours and four sixes in his knock.
Apart from Saha’s knock, Shubman Gill's 94* in 51 balls with 7 sixes and 2 fours, Hardik Pandya's 25 and 15 balls with 2 sixes and 14, David Miller's 21 not out in 12 balls were the highlights of the GT innings.
In just 20 overs, Gujarat Titans scored an astounding 227 for 2.
Kyle Mayers and Quinton de Kock of the Lucknow Super Giants opened their innings with a bang despite having the difficult challenge of pursuing a 228-run target.

With Quinton scoring 37 in 20 balls with seven fours, and Mayers scoring 48 runs in 32 balls with seven fours and two sixes, the pair added 88 runs in 8.2 overs for the 1st wicket.
However, Mayer's innings was over as he attempted to pull a slower ball from Mohit Sharma to the leg side. Although the ball was dying on him, Rashid Khan, who was stationed at the midwicket boundary, rushed in to collect the catch.
Rashid produced an astounding catch after managing to get his hands beneath the ball.
