The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) shared a point each in their recent IPL 2023 clash in Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Wednesday as the match was called off due to rain after 19.2 overs of the LSG side.
MS Dhoni and CSK would feel hard done by the rain gods because when the rain halted the match, CSK had been having a stronghold over the match, having got LSG in a difficult position at 125/7 in 19.2 overs.
Even a short 10-over chase, for which their target would have been only 76 runs, CSK would’ve fancied their chances, but the rain didn’t relent and the match had to be called off.
During the LSG innings, there was an interesting incident where MS Dhoni did WWE wrestler John Cena’s famous ‘You Can’t See Me’ gesture by waving his hand and fingers in front of his face.
In the 6th over of LSG innings, a ball from Maheesh Theekshana ducked under Manan Vohra’s flick shot and hit him on the pads. But he had come across the off-stump very much and umpire Anil Choudhary gave it not out on the field.
Theekshana looked straight up to captain and wicket-keeper MS Dhoni for consultation regarding the DRS on his huge lbw appeal.
However, Dhoni told him, he couldn’t see where the ball hit the stumps and first put a hand to his head and made a gesture that he didn’t hear any inside edge and then later the ‘You Can’t See Me’ sign.
This sign is the trademark of WWE wrestler John Cena, who does it during his matches.
Now on Saturday, May 6, 2023, John Cena has shared MS Dhoni doing the ‘You Can’t See Me’ gesture on his Instagram.
