Delhi Capital (DC) have been dealt a huge blow ahead of their upcoming IPL 2023 match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on May 6, 2023, as their ace pacer Anrich Nortje will not be available for this important encounter.
Nortje played eight of DC’s nine matches this season and scalped seven wickets. DC is currently standing at the bottom of the table with six points in nine matches. Apparently, Nortje has returned home to South Africa due to a family emergency and will miss the RCB encounter at home.
“Owing to a personal emergency, Delhi Capitals fast bowler Anrich Nortje had to leave for South Africa late on Friday night. He will be unavailable for this evening’s game against Royal Challengers Bangalore,” DC wrote on Twitter.
The David Warner-led side is scheduled to play a return match against Faf du Plessis’ RCB at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. DC had lost to RCB in Bengaluru by 23 runs previously.
