IPL 2023: WATCH- SRH's Aiden Markram’s stunning backwards running catch to get rid of his counterpart Nitish Rana

KKR won the toss and batted first putting up 171/9 in 20 overs.

Markram celebrates after taking a fantastic catch of Nitish Rana  | BCCI-IPLSunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) clashed with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 47th match of the ongoing IPL 2023 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal Hyderabad on May 4. SRH defeated KKR in their first meeting this season in Eden Gardens.

KKR captain Nitish Rana won the toss and chose to bat first. SRH pacer Marco Jansen hurt KKR badly by picking up the wickets of Rahmanullah Gurbaz for a golden duck and Venkatesh Iyer for 7 runs in his first and innings’ second over.

Kartik Tyagi then accounted for the dangerous Jason Roy for 20. But then Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh made 42 and 46 runs respectively and with Andre Russell contributing 24 runs, KKR posted a fighting 171/9 in 20 overs.

Nitish Rana was looking in fine form, having hit 3 fours and 3 sixes in his knock, two of the maximums coming in one over against Tyagi. But then SRH captain Aiden Markram, brought himself into the attack and in the 12th over, got Rana to play a false shot.

He swatted across the line and the ball hit the toe of the bat and went high into the Hyderabad sky Markram called for the catch, as he ran back keeping an eye on the ball all the time towards mid-on.

He finally got both hands to the ball and managed to keep it in his grasp when he hit the ground and completed a fine catch.
