Mumbai Indians (MI) registered a commanding 6-wicket win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Mohali on Wednesday (May 3) to take revenge of their earlier defeat in Mumbai.

MI captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl first as Punjab Kings posted an imposing total of 214/3 courtesy terrific knocks by Liam Livingstone (82*) and Jitesh Sharma (49*). Piyush Chawla was the most successful bowler with 2/29.

MI, who had chased down a similar target against Rajasthan Royals in their previous game, repeated the dose to Punjab Kings as they achieved their target in 18.5 overs with six wickets in hand.

Ishan Kishan (75), Suryakumar Yadav (66) and Tilak Varma's unbeaten 26 in 10 balls powered the five-time champions in their chase, as they now have 10 points from 9 games, while PBKS have the same number of points from 10 games.

PBKS' Twitter handle had been indulging in a lot of banter since their win over MI at Wankhede Stadium, and particularly their tweet to Mumbai Police caught the eye of everyone.

Now after MI's win, their admin responded in kind as it asked all police departments to concentrate on their work and not worry about the cricket.

MI's admin did not stop there, replying to PBKS for their tweet where they mocked Rohit Sharma after he fell for a duck in Mohali, as they reminded the Punjab franchise of their empty cabinet in the 15-year history of the IPL. PBKS deleted their tweet after losing the game.
