Jaydev Unadkat | IPL/TwitterLucknow Super Giants (LSG) fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat has been ruled out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season due to a left-shoulder injury, reported ESPNCricinfo on Wednesday (May 3).

The Lucknow-based franchise decided to release the left-arm pacer from the squad after consulting the BCCI medical team.

Unadkat picked up the injury while bowling at the nets last Sunday (April 30). As soon as he was finishing his follow through, his left foot got stuck in the rope used to hold the net straight. As a result, Unadkat fell on his left shoulder.

Jaydev Unadkat is part of India’s 15-member squad for the World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia, slated to be held at the Oval I London from June 7-11.

According to the report, Unadkat is expected to regain his fitness before the all-important summit clash.

The 31-year-old will reportedly have a scan in Mumbai before he heads to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for rehab.

Unadkat featured in only three IPL games this season but he failed to take a wicket for LSG.
