The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) IPL 2023 match on May 1 proved to be highly eventful both on the field and off-the field as players from both sides were involved in heated discussions when the match was being played and after the end as well.
RCB defeated LSG by 18 runs despite making 126/9 after batting first and then restricted the home side to just 108 in 19.5 overs.
But the talk of the match was far from related to the game. Virat Kohli's spat with Amit Mishra followed by an episode with Naveen-Ul-Haq stole the script which later transformed into an uncomfortable scene even after the match ended.
In the 17th over, Mohammed Siraj had started an issue with Naveen which led to Virat Kohli intervening and having a word with both the Afghani player and veteran Amit Mishra who had come to cool things down.
Even the on-field umpires tried their best to calm the former RCB skipper down. An over later, the entire footage was played by the broadcasters where Kohli seemed to have said something which led to a reaction from Naveen as he charged towards him.
Kohli verbally retaliated and also pointed his shoe towards Naveen and also plucked some dirt off it and showed it to the Afghanistani player. It was not clear what Kohli was trying to say, but everything which went down was not appropriate on the cricket field.
