India pacer Jaydev Unadkat has sustained a shoulder injury during the practice session of his IPL team Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

Unadkat’s injury came to light when the footage was shown on TV during LSG’s IPL clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Ekana Cricket Stadium on Monday (May 1).

Later, the official handle of IPL shared a video on Twitter, in which the left-armer was seen bowling at the nets on the eve of the LSG-RCB clash.

As soon as he was finishing his follow through, his left foot got stuck in the rope used to hold the net straight. As a result, Unadkat fell on his left shoulder. He was seen holding his shoulder in pain and also put an ice pack.

Here’s the video:

According to a report published in ESPNCricinfo, Jaydev Unadkat will remain in Lucknow for now and is in touch with the BCCI medical staff, awaiting a word on whether he needs to travel to the NCA in Bangalore or elsewhere for further consultation.

Unadkat is part of India’s 15-member squad for the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia. If he fails to recover prior to the WTC final, India will be in a big trouble as they are already without pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah.
