MS Dhoni was in top form with the keeping gloves during the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) match on April 21 in Chepauk in the ongoing IPL 2023, as he went back in time with his glovework.
The 41- year-old CSK captain, who is playing in the tournament with a knee niggle, has not let the injury affect his performance on the field. Against SRH, he utilised his CSK bowlers well to restrict the opposition to 134/7 runs, after he had won the toss and chose to bowl first.
Ravindra Jadeja picked 3/22 in his four overs and MS Dhoni helped him by stumping Mayank Agarwal off his bowling. The veteran keeper also took an sharp catch of Aiden Markram off Maheesh Theekshana, of which he complained that he should’ve gotten the best catch award for.

Meanwhile Dhoni showed why he is such a clever tactician on the final ball of SRH innings as he knew the batters will go for a run for a bye and took off his right glove and even practiced throwing.
Knowing that it was the last ball of the innings, Jansen had no other choice but to swing his bat to get some sort of connection to the ball, but he failed to make any contact with the ball and still tried to steal a run. Dhoni was well aware of this, and collected the ball calmly and made a direct hit, catching the non-striker short of the crease.
