Cricket fans were concerned about Mumbai Indians (MI) star Suryakumar Yadav after the cricketer got hit on his forehead above the left eye at the fag end of the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on April 11, 2023.
The incident happened on the fourth ball of the 17th over of the DC innings as Jason Behrendorff bowled a length ball on the middle stump which Akshar Patel lofted straight towards long-on.
Suryakumar lined up to take the catch with his hands pointed towards the sky but the ball missed the hands and hit him flush on the forehead, leaving the MI star groggy. The ball eventually was parried over the boundary ropes for a six as Suryakumar Yadav fell clutching his face.
The MI physio rushed over to check on Suryakumar Yadav and after a concussion test, he had to be taken off the field for further treatment.

Meanwhile, DC who were asked to bat first by MI captain Rohit Sharma, who won the toss, posted 172 on the board with David Warner (51) and Akshar Patel (54) being the top scorers. Jason Behrendorff and Piyush Chawla picked three wickets each for MI.
After Suryakumar Yadav was hit on the forehead, the netizens who watched the horrific injury, showed their concern for the cricketer on Twitter.
