IPL 2023: “3 games, 3 losses - very tough to see this”- DC co-owner Parth Jindal tweets after loss to RR

DC will next face fellow winless franchise MI in Delhi on April 11.

David Warner's half-century couldn't inspire DC to a win | BCCI-IPL Delhi Capitals (DC) co-owner Parth Jindal reacted to the franchise’s third straight loss in the ongoing IPL 2023. The David Warner-led side succumbed to a clinical display by Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Guwahati on Saturday.

DC bowled first after winning the toss and RR posted 199/4 as Jos Buttler made 79 and Yashasvi Jaiswal (60) with Shimron Hetmyer (39*) providing the finishing touches. In reply, the DC batters found it very hard to score on a tricky pitch.

Trent Boult hurt them at the start by removing Prithvi Shaw and Manish Pandey for ducks in the first over itself and then David Warner, despite making 65 in 55, failed to provide impetus to the innings as wickets fell around him.

In the end, DC managed 142/9 in 20 overs and lost the match by 57 runs.

IPL 2023: “If you can’t do that, do not come and play in IPL,” Sehwag slams Warner for his 55-ball 65 against RR

At a time when head coach Ricky Ponting is unable to ‘put a finger’ on what is actually troubling Warner and Co. in the ongoing season, DC co-owner Jindal has shared his views about the disastrous start of the Delhi-based franchise.

Jindal opined that his side lacked intent, especially in their batting and shared his thoughts on Twitter.

He posted: “3 games, 3 losses - very tough to see this @DelhiCapitals - not enough intent with the bat and execution lacking in some areas in the field - we have the belief in this bunch - let’s regroup and start fresh from Tuesday - I believe in this team. Come on Delhi!”

DC’s next encounter in IPL 2023 will be at home in Delhi against Mumbai Indians on April 11.
