After losing their IPL 2023 opening contest to Gujarat Titans (GT) on March 31, MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) made their grand return to MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai as they defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their second encounter of the tournament.
Asked to bat first, CSK posted 217/7 in 20 overs with 57 from Ruturaj Gaikwad, 47 from Devon Conway and two lusty hits for six by MS Dhoni in the last over. In reply, LSG had a quick start by Kyle Mayers, who slammed 53 in 22 balls.
But after that, MS Dhoni used the spinners to control the game and with Moeen Ali taking 4/26, CSK won the game by 12 runs with LSG making 205/7.
After the match ended, it was time for a surprise as fans got to see a CSK reunion as former yellow army batters Suresh Raina and Robin Uthappa met with MS Dhoni and shared warm hugs with them.

The CSK franchise shared a picture where there are five CSK legends. Apart from Dhoni, Raina, and Uthappa, you also see Ambati Rayudu and Ravindra Jadeja in the frame.
CSK will next face MI in a blockbuster match at the Wankhede stadium on April 8th.
