The 7th match of the IPL 2023 saw Delhi Capitals (DC) hosting Gujarat Titans (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on April 4, 2023. DC came into this game after losing their first match, while GT had defeated CSK in the tournament opener.
Hardik Pandya won the toss and chose to bowl first. David Miller came in for Kane Williamson, and Sai Sudharsan replaced Vijay Shankar in the XI. For DC, Anrich Nortje came in for Rovman Powell, and Abishek Porel took up the wicketkeeping gloves, making his IPL and DC debut.
While David Warner scored runs at the start, Mohammad Shami rattled the DC top order with the wickets of Prithvi Shaw (7), and Mitchell Marsh (4). Alzarri Joseph then removed the big threat in Warner for 37 runs and then got Rilee Russouw out the first ball.
