IPL 2023: WATCH – MS Dhoni slams Mark Wood for two successive sixes; Chepauk crowd goes bonkers

Dhoni scored 12 off 3 balls in CSK's second match against LSG.

MS Dhoni | Screengrab/IPLChennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni seems to be enjoying his time with the bat in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

In CSK’s campaign opener, Dhoni scored 14* off 7 balls with one four and one six while he slammed 12 off 3 balls, including a couple of sixes, in the ongoing clash against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Dhoni came out to bat at No. 8 in the final over and smashed a six off the first ball while facing Mark Wood. The CSK captain also deposited the second ball for a six before being dismissed on the third delivery.

While the first maximum flew over third man, the second one was the pull over deep square leg. With the second six, Dhoni also completed 5000 runs in the Indian Premier League.

Both the shots left the crowd mesmerized as they made the loudest cheers possible at Chepauk.

Coming to the match, CSK piled up a mammoth 217/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Ruturaj Gaikwad top scored with 57 off 31 balls while his opening partner Devon Conway made 47 in 29 balls. Ambati Rayudu (27* off 14) and Shivam Dube (27 off 16) also chipped in with handy contributions.
