After a glittering opening ceremony of the IPL 2023 which saw Gujarat Titans (GT) defeat Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the opening match, all eyes will be on Sunday when Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) clash with five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in Bengaluru.
Faf du Plessis-led RCB will have Virat Kohli who has gotten his form back after three years of barren run in both international cricket and in the IPL as well, including a horrid run in IPL 2022 where he was dismissed on first ball for a couple of times and managed only 341 runs at an average of 22.73.
Ahead of RCB’s IPL 2023 opener, Virat Kohli was seen sweating it out in the nets and captain Faf du Plessis, who was giving an interview, just couldn’t concentrate on it as he watched balls fly past and above him.
Kohli took the aerial route each and every time and seemed to be making excellent connections. Du Plessis constantly looked at his teammate, who was hitting the ball with disdain.

38-year-old du Plessis said that he and his team are confident of performing well in their campaign in the ongoing IPL edition.
“I think we as a team are extremely grateful and we are ready for the season. One thing I can promise you from a player’s perspective is we can take it all the way this time,” Du Plessis said.
With Kohli in such amazing form, RCB will fancy their chances of winning their maiden IPL title this season.
