The 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) got underway on Friday (March 31) with the blockbuster clash between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans.

While Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shubman Gill dazzled the crowd with their spectacular batting, fans also enjoyed the Bhojpuri commentary in the tournament opener.

Renowned actor Ravi Kishan was part of the Bhojpuri commentary team and he entertained fans with his one-liners.

A video of Kishan praising Dhoni went viral on the internet after the CSK skipper smashed Joshua Little for a massive six in the final over of first innings.

"Jiyo re bhojpuriya...," Ravi Kishan was heard saying on-air.

Coming to the match, Chennai Super Kings suffered a five-wicket defeat at the hands of Gujarat Titans. On the back of Ruturaj Gaikwad’s 50-ball 92, CSK posted 178/7 in their allotted 20 overs.

In reply, the defending champions rode on Shubman Gill’s 36-ball 63 and vital contributions from Rahul Tewatia (15*) and Rashid Khan (10* off 3 balls) to overhaul the target with four deliveries to spare.
