IPL 2023: Cricket fraternity lauds Ruturaj Gaikwad for a stupendous 92 as CSK posts 178/7 against GT

Gaikwad hammered 9 sixes and 4 fours in his 50-ball knock in IPL 2023 opener.

The 16th edition of the tournament sees the impact player rule, the reviews for no-balls and wides, and announcing of the final playing XI after the toss happens.

Meanwhile, GT captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and chose to bowl first on a decent Ahmedabad pitch. 

The GT bowlers reined in the CSK charge as Ruturaj was kept away from strike despite being in amazing form. And he continued to crack amazing shots as he had reached his fifty in 23 balls and exclusively dealt in sixes.

He was finally dismissed for 92 runs in just 50 balls after smacking 9 sixes and 4 fours in his knock. MS Dhoni gave CSK a good push in the end with 14* in 7 balls with one six and one four and ended with 178/7 in 20 overs.

Mohammad Shami, Alzarri Joseph, and Rashid Khan all picked two wickets each for Gujarat. Shami also completed his 100 wickets in the IPL with the wicket of Devon Conway.

The cricket fraternity was all praises for Ruturaj Gaikwad as his knock enabled CSK to get a huge advantage.
