It's that time of the year again when IPL fever kicks in all over India. The 16th edition of the grandest T20 league will kick-start from March 31 with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) playing defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) in Ahmedabad.

All the teams are in the process of kickstarting their preparations for the season with training camps. CSK will also be organizing a camp in Chennai and as the local players began arriving in the city on Thursday (March 2), all eyes were on captain MS Dhoni when he arrived on Thursday evening.

With this season widely speculated to be Dhoni's last in the league, there will be lot of focus on his movements for the duration of the tournament as his die-hard fans will seek every chance to bid farewell to one of the greatest Indian cricketers and a four-time IPL winner with Chennai Super Kings.

Dhoni is yet to officially confirm his future plans but it's quite likely that he will take the opportunity to say goodbye to fans around the country with the league returning to home and away format for the first time since COVID-19 pandemic struck the world.

The 41-year-old received a warm welcome at Chennai airport as he came out to get into his car. Dhoni was showered with flower petals before he got into his car and left for the team hotel.

“Thala Dharisanam, finally!” Chennai Super Kings wrote on their Twitter account along with a picture of 'Thala' Dhoni making his way to the hotel.
