IPL 2023 Auction: Reece Topley picked by RCB; Jhye Richardson goes to MI; Adil Rashid finds home at SRH

Reece Topley | GettyThe IPL 2023 auction got underway in Kochi with 405 players undergoing the hammer for a chance to be part of the world’s richest and most popular T20 league.

Out of the shortlisted players, 273 are Indians and 132 are overseas players of which 4 players are from associate nations. The total number of capped players is 119, uncapped players are 282, and 4 are from associate nations.

This set consisted of fast bowlers and we saw the likes of Reece Topley, and Jhye Richardson, and Indian pacers like Ishant Sharma and Jaydev Unadkat.

Chris Jordan and Adam Milne went unsold from this set, while Reece Topley of England was the most expensive pick with RCB picking him for INR 1.90 crores.

After him, Jhye Richardson was another pacer who got an INR 1.50 crores from Mumbai Indians.

Jaydev Unadkat went to LSG for his base price, while DC bought Ishant Sharma for his base price as well.

The next lot was of spinners which saw only Adil Rashid and Mayank Markande getting bids, from SRH as they both were sold at their base prices of INR 2 crs and INR 50 lakhs respectively.
