IPL 2023: WATCH- Ricky Ponting hints Delhi Capitals will go after Cameron Green in IPL 16 auction

As Cameron Green has confirmed that he has registered for the upcoming IPL 2023 auction, all ten franchisees have undoubtedly begun their research into acquiring the talented Australian all-rounder for the next season of the world's biggest T20 extravaganza.

There is no doubt that Green will certainly be one of the hottest picks in the IPL 2023 mini-auction. Well, Ricky Ponting, the current Delhi Capitals (DC) head coach, made his intentions clear about purchasing Green at the auction for the IPL 2023, which will be held in Kochi on December 23.

Actually, Ponting hilariously asked Australia’s head coach Andrew McDonald about Green's availability during a discussion on 7 Cricket on the opening day’s play of the first Test between Australia and West Indies in Perth on Wednesday (November 30).

The DC head coach asked McDonald if he knew about Green's availability in the IPL 2023, as the franchise has set aside a fair bit of money to sign Australia's rising allrounder at the auction next month.

Ponting told McDonald in a discussion on 7 Cricket on Wednesday: “Maybe not here on-air but Keep your phone on tonight. I'm really interested to have an IPL conversation with you about Cam Green cos I freed up a fair bit of money for Delhi Capitals this year. I want to down look on how much he is actually he is going to be available. So, keep it final tonight. The fans will love him.”

Notably, DC will go to the IPL 2023 mini-auction with a purse of INR 19.45 crore and can really bid high for Green after releasing the likes of Shardul Thakur, Tim Seifert, Ashwin Hebbar, KS Bharat, and Mandeep Singh.
