Australia’s Test and ODI captain Pat Cummins said that as a captain he would not allow his star all-rounder Cameron Green to compete in the Indian Premier League (IPL), but he isn’t going to do that.

Green's power-hitting prowess and his genuine pace with the ball will be a big attraction for the franchisees if the Australian star decides to enter the IPL 2023 auction on December 23 in Kochi.

Well, Cummins confirmed that Green will enter his name in the IPL 2023 auction, and if he finds a buyer, he will not take away the opportunity from the young all-rounder to compete in the world’s biggest T20 league, despite the fact that as a captain he would like to save all his energy for Australia.

Pat Cummins told SEN Radio: “Yeah potentially (Green will enter his name in the IPL auction). We'll wait and see; I think the auction is a little while away. Selfishly as a captain, I'd love for him to save all of his energy for Australia. But how can you tell someone to say no to that kind of opportunity?”

Notably, Cummins has himself opted to skip the IPL 2023 due to a packed international calendar. On the other hand, the IPL 2023 auction will happen on December 23 in Kochi.
