India’s talented batter, Ruturaj Gaikwad, is eagerly waiting for the moment when he takes the field for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at their home ground, MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, in the upcoming Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL 2023).

The 25-year-old batter has been one of the key players for the CSK for the past few seasons, but he hasn’t yet had the opportunity to play at the Chepauk Cricket Stadium, as the entire 2020 season and half of 2021 season was held in the UAE, and then the IPL 2022 was held at limited venues in the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Notably, Gaikwad has been associated with CSK since the 2019 season but made his debut in 2020, and the right-hander finished as the leading run-getter for the franchise. He scored 635 runs in the IPL 2021 season to help CSK bag the IPL trophy, and then in this season, he scored 368 runs for CSK.

Well, the IPL 2023 is all set to be played in a home-and-away format, and Gaikwad said that he can’t wait for the moment when he will get a chance to play for CSK in front of home fans at Chepauk. He recently played three matches in Chennai for India A against New Zealand A.

Ruturaj Gaikwad said in a video shared by CSK on Twitter: “I had seen the atmosphere, I had seen the electrifying noise. I have experienced everything. So, obviously, that was going on in my mind when I would practice for two days (with India A in Chennai).”

He added, “I was imagining the crowd and CSK entering the stadium. So actually, I am just waiting for the moment. But the first time when I played here was actually special because I felt this was the place where I started my journey. Coming to CSK and getting to learn a lot of things, getting to know the first experience of what it is at the higher level. So, this is the place where it all started.”
